An Interview with Luke Huizinga, Mechanical Detail - Southbury, CT

The Danbury Review Interviews Luke Huizinga, Owner of Mechanical Detail in Southbury, Connecticut.

I sat down with Luke Huizinga of Mechanical Detail Plumbing in Southbury, CT for our interview.  Luke is a straight forward, warm, friendly individual who is loved by many.  He's a competent business owner, and Luke Huizinga won the Commit To Be Fit Challenge over at Prime Time Fitness which is actually how we got into contact.

Luke is a local plumber, father and often takes time to work in the community.  His small plumbing company has just grown to 3 employees as he does the right work for the right people.  He can be found fixing ac units, repairing heaters, troubleshooting boilers or simply turning on the water for someone who thought their washing machine was broken.  Although Luke will shy away from Appliance Repair he certainly will help anyone that needs anything repaired in their home.

He's a member of PCNG, a local networking group and the other members swear by his handyman skills.  He's a millennial, but a hard working smart one at that.  Hopefully we'll see a new breed of hard working millennial in the upcoming years.. Hopefully.

Looking for a Tree Service in Connecticut?

Finding a Tree Service in Connecticut is always a difficult process because you never really know if they'll show up to do a good job or not.  But, with our tips on selecting the right Connecticut Tree Service hopefully you'll get steered in the right direction.

In this short article we'll provide 10 Tips & Tricks on Hiring the Best Connecticut Tree Service and give you the names of Tree Services in Connecticut that we recommend.
connecticut tree services

How to Find the Perfect Tree Service in Connecticut!

Here's The Danbury Review's list of 10 tips & tricks to find the best tree service.  A tree service is a company that performs services like tree removal, tree trimming, stump grinding, brush hauling, land clearing and more.  However, more often than not tree services aren't actually tree services and instead they are money hungry guys with chainsaws & pick up trucks that think they can make a quick buck.  Hopefully this guide on finding the Best Tree Service in Connecticut will help you decide who to choose.

1.  Read Reviews

Always read the reviews.  The reviews truly tell the whole picture.  If they have good reviews chances are they'll do good work, if they have bad reviews it's a red flag and if they have no reviews... don't hire them!  Please note that Tree Guys will often do anything for work so if you see almost "too good to be true" reviews you might want to do some more research.  On the other hand if you notice other "too bad to be real" reviews it might just be a competitor trying to bring his opponent down.

2. Get 3-5 Quotes

Get a bunch of quotes from local tree service companies.  Don't buy on the first quote and always take notes.  A good thing to note is how professional they were, if they were late to give you a quote or if they had a hard time justifying the price.  Chances are if they were late to give you the quote the job will be completed late as well.

3. Ask them to Justify the Quote

Justifying the quote is sometimes a hard thing to ask a tree guy.  Tree workers are always pretty rough around the edges, often have unusually long beards and certainly intimidating.  Don't be intimidated - it's your money!  If he says it's $5000 for the job ask him, why is that?  If he has a hard time justifying why the job is $5000 then that's simple a shot in the dark.  If he can justify the price you know you're in good hands.

We'll continue with The Danbury Review's 7 Tips & Tricks to Hire the Right Connecticut Tree Service in a moment, but first let's take a look at a few of our recommended Tree Services in CT.

Tree Services in Connecticut Recommended by
The Danbury Review

tree services in connecticut
We routinely interview businesses across Connecticut and many of them are home service based businesses like landscapers, masonry, fencing companies, electricians and all of them know a good tree guy to recommend.
  1. New Milford Tree Service - for anyone in the Litchfield County part of Connecticut that's looking for a good local tree service check out New Milford Tree Service's website.  This tree company helps homeowners throughout New Milford, Kent, Gaylordsville and Upper Litchfield County.
  2. Premiere Tree Service of Westport - for our local Fairfield County residents that are in need of tree work this Westport Tree Service offers quick quotes at not-so-westport prices.  They also service Fairfield, Southport, Norwalk and Darien.
  3. Greenwich Tree Removal - for our lower Greenwich County homeowners that need a tree removed fast this Tree Service in Greenwich is very good at getting tree jobs completed quickly.  They are easy to work with but only service Greenwich, Connecticut.
Let's get back to the article!

4. Look at their shoes!

Discreetly look their their shoes...  if they aren't in work boots chances are they aren't the ones actually doing the job - which is exactly what you want.  It's tempting to hire the guy that is actually going to do the work because you think you'll get a better deal, which you might.  But if you hire the guy who looks like he's been on the job for the last 8 hours he might take bloody forever to get the job finished.

You want to hire the Tree Company that has one guy that just does estimates because then you know that they can afford to do the tree work quickly.  Afford to do the tree work quickly?  Yes, tree companies in CT and throughout the country are known to chew through their jobs slowly to keep their cash flow up.

They'll start one job in Fairfield, put in half a day to work on their other job in Stamford and repeat that process throughout the weekly doing a little bit of each job to keep their cash flow smooth.

5. Beat them up on price (or call a friend!)

"Oh I hate negotiating" is what I always hear from friends & family.  I tell them - next time you need someone to head into a car dealership with you...  call me.  Tree jobs aren't cheap.  You can get a tree trimmed for a couple hundred bucks, but if you want a couple trees removed the tree company will need to get a crane on site to do that.  We're talking $5000-$10,000+ to get 5 or so trees removed and their stump ground.

Find your friend who can negotiate and have them talk with the tree guys to get the best deal.  Chances are if they are ok with negotiation they can read people better than you anyway - meaning they can spot a ****bag from a mile away.

The Danbury Review (continued)

tree companies in connecticut
CT Tree Service is a competitive space for a lot of tree companies but still there can be a snake that gets through the cracks.  We've personally interviewed the tree services that we mention below to make sure they will do a great job on whatever kind of tree work you throw at them.  Each one of the tree businesses on this list can handle removing trees, trimming trees, grinding stumps, hauling brush, clearing land and finish your tree jobs quickly.
           4.  Mr Meriden Tree Service LLC - if you've just been hit with a brutal storm in New Haven County, Connecticut you'll want to give Mr Meriden Tree Service LLC a call.  They handle the entire New Haven County area but reserve special pricing for Meriden residents.
                5.  Milford Tree Removal Pros - Finding the right tree removal company in Milford, CT is always a difficult process because there are so many different tree services on Connecticut's coastline.  However, if you need a quality tree service click here for Milford Tree Removal Pro's website.

Let's get back to the article!

6.  Reschedule Your Tree Work Estimate

We're getting into the tricks portion of our article!  Here's a little trick to test the tree service you're hiring.  Call to reschedule the estimate and watch for:
  • Can you get a hold of them?
  • Is their voicemail full?
  • Are they caught flat footed?
  • Do they want to reschedule?
  • How much time do they have available?
Answering these questions is a really good way to determine if they have an actual tree business or if this is just a nice way to make money when they are slow with their lawn mowing business.

7. Ask for their License information

Many tree companies in Connecticut might not have this information on hand, but they do  you know you've got a winner.  Take a look at our friend Kleber C's Danbury Tree Service - New Website it'll show you exactly why you need to check for proper licensing when hiring a company to remove a tree, especially if it's close to your house.

Imagine having a wife watch as her husband takes down a tree in the backyard.  The thoughts going through her mind...
"What if he drops it on the house?  I don't think our insurance will cover it."
"What if he gets hurt while trying to cut those two branches that are closest to our house?  The way he climbed up that tree doesn't look very safe."
"What if he spends all day on this and then realizes this job is too much for him alone.  Then he wastes a day when he could be getting ahead on his big project at work or taking the kids to the park, only to have to spend several thousand dollars on a tree business"

One thing that insurance doesn't cover is hiring people that are unlicensed and poorly insured to do work on your house.

What if live in area that the city needs to approve any tree removals?

If you're in the City of Danbury, see their website here:

Need an Appliance Repaired in Danbury, CT?

Appliance Repair Pros of Danbury are here to help!

appliance repair danbury ct
Appliance Repair Pros of Danbury is a local appliance repair company.  They handle all almost everything including refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, washing machines, dryers and other kitchen appliances.

Many people throughout the Greater Danbury area rely on them for all their repairs.

What is unique about the Appliance Repair Pros?

The one thing that separates the Appliance Repair Pros from the rest of the repairmen across Connecticut is that we don't come out unless we can fix it.  Most appliance repair companies just try to collect as many service call fees as possible.

We focus less on collecting service fees, but rather focus on repairing just the appliances we can.

Let's say your refrigerator goes dead.  Most repair guys will take advantage of the urgency that goes along with all your food going bad and slap you with a high service fee.  If you give the Appliance Repair Pros of Danbury a call instead we'll go through a thorough phone conversation to make sure you're not just better off buying a new fridge.

What parts of Connecticut do you service?

We get many service calls from not only Danbury, but surrounding towns.  Our team regularly repairs subzero and wolf refrigerators in Ridgefield, Connecticut.  The New Fairfield area also reaches out to our appliance repairmen for service.  We get a couple calls from Brookfield, CT, but they are primarily looking for someone to come out next day.

We do next day service if we have room.  Given our growing popularity in the Greater Danbury region we don't always have room.

What's hardest about being in the Home Appliance Repair Industry?

danbury appliance repair
Definitely the hardest thing about repairing appliances for a living is letting people know that you can't fix their appliance.  We try avoid this awkward conversation in the first place by having a thorough talk over the phone.

9 out of 10 times we can repair the given appliance, but once in a while there is just nothing we can do.  In that case we need to let the homeowner know that they'll have get a new refrigerator or dishwasher for example.

What's the hardest Appliance to Repair?

GE Appliances are by far the hardest to repair.  Often they come with touch screen monitors that we can't usually fix.  Those monitors tend to break rather quickly and only can be fixed by a specialized GE technician.

If you're going to invest in a General Electric Appliance make sure to get the highest warranty.

Looking for Fence Installation in Connecticut?

I met with Adam, the owner of Connecticut Fence and Landscaping LLC which is out of Brookfield, CT.  CT Fence & Landscaping provides Fencing, Landscaping and Masonry for much of Connecticut.  After coming out of the Marine Core Adam knew that he wanted to start his own business.  At first he only handled landscaping, but one day one of his clients asked him to a build a fence.

The local homeowner who tasked Adam with building him a fence fell in love with the results.  Adam started building fences for homeowners throughout Brookfield, and that's how Connecticut Fence and Landscaping started.

Connecticut Fence and Landscaping is setup to handle every job in house without having to depend on outside contractors.  He has a 2 Masonry crews that stay busy year round working on pools, patios, outdoor kitchens and that kind of stuff.  Adam also has landscaping crews that handle bigger planting jobs, landscaping and a bit of maintenance.

Connecticut Fence is doing much more than just regular fencing.  They are breaking into Glass Fencing, Gate Automation, and do all the welding on site.

During the winter like any Landscaping business they handle snow plowing, and snow removal.

What's the toughest thing you went through when opening up Connecticut Fencing and Landscaping LLC?

The toughest thing I went through when opening Connecticut Fence and Landscaping was definitely the time away from my family.  We're still in growth mode here at Connecticut Fence, and I'm working nights, Saturdays and Sundays.

We may have 18-20 full-time employees here at CT Fencing, but we're just getting started.  Recently, we've gotten into gate automation and glass fencing.

Whats the toughest part of having a Fencing & Landscaping Business in 2017?

Competition is growing.  When I first started with fencing there was just three of us.  Now there are tons of landscapers that also do fencing.  The added competition brings the overall costs of the work we do down while the price of trucks, gas and rent is always going up.

Not matter our costs I always make sure to do the job 100%.  The outstanding work we provide sets us apart from the rest of the competition in CT.  I've got a lot of friends in the industry; they give me work because they know I do good work not because they are friends of mine.

If a Customer was to choose between your CT Fencing and 3 others just like - why should they choose yours?

The best thing about Connecticut Fencing and Landscaping is that our loyalty is unparalleled.  If a customer from 5 years ago calls me to complain about a fence post that is leaning then I'll make it my priority to get over there.

I won't sleep well unless I know that my customers are taken care of.  Growing up my father was in the car detailing business, and his business grew through his high quality work alone.  Here at CT Fencing we believe in the same values: high quality work, fair pricing, and lifetime customer service.

Wrapping things up with Connecticut Fencing & Landscaping

Meeting Adam of Connecticut Fence & Landscaping was a refreshing experience.  He built a great fencing business from scratch, but hasn't let the growth of his business change what he does on a daily basis.  Adam is on site to make sure the jobs are done by CT Fencing's high standards.  He's working weekends, nights, and continually reinvesting into the business.

Looking for Landscaping in Danbury CT?

The Danbury Review interviews Corby Hocker, The owner of The Grounds Guys of Danbury.  The Grounds Guys offer lawn maintenance, and full service landscaping to the local Danbury area including Southbury, Brookfield, Bethel, Newton, Sandy hook and more.  Corby had a very interesting story as he was traveling the world as an investment banker not too long ago.  He had been doing landscaping as a hobby his entire life, but only recently did he take his passion for the outdoors and turn it into a reality.

Being an investment banker meant much time away from his family, and even less time outdoors.   Nowadays, he's a The Grounds Guys franchisee, and spends his time building a business he loves.  Corby can be found planting shrubs, gardens, perennials, annuals, trees, and cleaning up after storms.  When he's not caring for his clients throughout the Greater Danbury area you'll be able to find him on the soccer field, basketball court or skating around the hockey rink with his energetic four kids!

When did you start the Grounds Guys of Danbury?

I started The Grounds Guys in March of last year, and we're growing rapidly with the help of our team. Becoming a part of The Grounds Guys was one of the best choices I've ever made.  The Grounds Guy's core values were right in line with mine, and the franchise provides a ton of support including the back office, marketing and brand recognition.

Cara McArdle joined The Grounds Guys team as a Design & Marketing expert, both graphical and garden design.  She's equally skilled in creating our marketing materials and designing/installing flower and vegetable gardens for our clients.  We've recruited some great people over the past year that do landscaping, tree work and lawn maintenance, but are always looking for hard workers who have a passion for providing high quality service.

What's the toughest thing you went through then opening the Grounds Guys of Danbury?

Hiring the right people isn't the easiest thing to do.  The weather isn't always sunny and warm, and the days aren't always short.  We have high requirements for our employees including drug testing.  The hardest thing for us was finding good help.  Today's new culture is different, and hard workers are definitely hard to come by.  But I feel great about the team I have, know they have the same values for quality service that I do, and we are ready for spring.

Corby and his Family

If a customer was looking for landscaping in Danbury and had to choose between the Grounds Guys and 3 other businesses just like it - why choose yours?

The customer service that The Grounds Guys is able to give to each and every customer.  There are a lot of landscaping services around, but not many that have a standard of service required by a parent company.  Those standards combined with my own personal commitment to building a trusted, reliable, high quality landscaping business are what set us apart.  You know when a uniformed, scheduled Grounds Guy landscaper comes to your home you can expect a very high standard of service.  We do everything from lawn care to tree removal.  The reviews on our Facebook page confirm that.  Every customer matters.  If there is a rain or other delay the customer is notified of that.  I do exactly what I say I'm going to do.  Superior customer service combined with quality service is the name of my game.

Some services sell on price, and you know, you get what you pay for.  I focus on the value you get from my services.  I want you to feel like the investment was worth it, and it will show in your landscape.  That’s what makes me excited to get out there every day.

There is plenty of business around the Danbury area, and I know my clients have a choice.  When they give the Grounds Guys a chance to meet their home care needs, our clients are happy with the results and continue as our clients.  We can’t wait to meet more of our neighbors in the Greater Danbury area and show what the Grounds Guys can do.

In 6 months from now, where would you like the Grounds Guys Business to be?

Double in size!  I'd like us to be at 2 trucks, and 2 full-time crews.  There is plenty of business around the Danbury area, and many people are settling for sub-par lawn service.  Our team can't wait until the Greater Danbury area realizes what they're missing out on!

Wrapping things up with the Grounds Guys of Danbury

Corby was a real stand up guy.  Learning that he was traveling the world as an investment banker, but changed his whole career around to be able to spend time with his family and work outside was impressive.  Making a big career change while needing to support a family is admirable.

Danbury Tree Service Pros of Danbury Connecticut

Looking for a Tree Service in Danbury CT?

I met with Bill of the Danbury Tree Service Pros.  He's got two tree work crews, and a lot of history in the tree service industry.  Bill has been working with his hands since the young age of 15, and personally supervises every tree removal that his tree service handles.

Bill has been in the Tree Business for over 20 years, and has seen it change from a tight knit group of professionals to a much larger and less professional group.  After the storms of Irene and Sandy there have been tree services popping up on every corner in Danbury.  This influx of "Tree Removal Experts" has created a bad name for the tree care industry, and resulted in a common distrust of tree care professionals.

Bill knows that it won't be easy to improve the name behind tree services in Danbury, but he's devoted to changing people's minds one tree job at a time.

What made you want to go into the Tree Removal Business?

Bill didn't have a choice, because he was brought up in the business.  His friends and family were deeply invested in the tree care industry.  In hindsight he's glad that there wasn't a choice for him, because he wouldn't want to trade his lifestyle for anything.
Tree Removal Danbury

If a Customer was to choose between L & T Tree Service, Barts Tree Service, and Torcasio Tree Service - why choose yours?

We've got nothing bad to say about L & T Tree Service, Bart's Tree Service or Torcasio.  Each one of those professionals are great at what they do.  Bart's handles some very tricky tree removals throughout Fairfield County as a whole.  The guys from Land and Tree are great guys, and they put 100% into every tree removal they do.  Torcasio Tree Service has been here almost as long as we have.  Tony, the owner of Torcasio is a great guy, and he runs a serious tree work crew.

What it really comes down to when choosing the right tree service is price and availability.  Bart's Tree Service, L & T, Torcasio Tree Service, and our Tree Service will all do a great job.  Each one of us handles tricky tree removals, and other tree work.  We don't really know any of the other tree services in town as well as these guys.

Do your research, look at each tree service's website, reviews, and make some calls.  Compare quotes, and availability.  We won't always be the lowest in town, but we'll make sure you get taken care of very quickly.

Wrapping things up with the Danbury Tree Service Pros

I know who I'll be calling for my next tree removal.  Bill is a real stand up guy, and he's answered the previous question much difference than most people do.  It was great meeting Bill, and learning about his tree service.

Looking for Cell Phone Repair in Danbury?

I met with Ricky Espinal of MobiFix.Repair, a phone repair business that comes to your home in Danbury.  MobiFix repairs iPhones, Androids, iPads, and all other smart phones or tablets.  Their quality  is just as good, if not better quality than other, more well-known cell phone repair shops in Danbury, Connecticut.

In addition to providing quality phone repair service in Danbury, MobiFix also provides the excellent customer service. By the time you drive to the mall, wait in line at the phone repair kiosk, wait for the repair to be done, and then drive home…  You could have had MobiFix at your home, a phone repaired, and have played 25 minutes of Candy Crush or Pokemon go – whatever you’re into.

Not to mention the money you’ll have saved on your smart phone repair.  MobiFix doesn’t have expensive overhead that kiosks, and phone repair shops in the Danbury Mall do.

What made you want to get into the Mobile Phone Repair Business in Danbury?

“I spent 5 years working in the cell phone repair business for someone else, and felt that I could do a better job.  I enjoy helping people, and being able to do right by my customers is a great feeling” explains Ricky.

“In 6 months I’d like to have another MobiFix Repair van on the streets of Danbury, and be recognized as the best iphone repair shop in Danbury.  I’d like to have a place where people could drop off their phones to be repaired as well. "

Phone Repair Danbury
"I’d also like to be able to service the other CT areas such as Brookfield, New Fairfield, Bethel, and Ridgefield with additional vans.  It’ll definitely be difficult to find others with the same passion as myself, but I’m very optimistic," says Ricky.

If a customer was to choose between your iphone repair business, and three others just like it in Danbury CT…  Why choose yours?

“I’m a local business in Danbury.  I’m not cellaris, the sprint store, or a random cell phone repair kiosk.  I could be making 10x a much at my old job, but I’m building my phone repair business because it’s a passion of mine.  You’ll notice that passion in my quality repairs, and great customer service."

Wrapping things up with MobiFix Repair of Danbury Connecticut

I was really impressed with Ricky.  It’s always difficult to be a solopreneur but he really cares about his customers, and there is a need for mobile cell phone repair in Danbury.

L&J Pools in Bethel, CT

Thinking about getting a Pool for Next Summer?

I met with Jim Jr of L&J Pools located in Bethel, Connecticut. L&J Pools has an interesting history; Jim Sr. started his construction business in 1975, where he built many subdivisions, roads, foundations for houses and more. After Jim Sr. built his own house he decided he wanted to get a pool, and so he built himself a pool. Jim’s friends and family were so impressed and in awe of his custom built concrete wall, vinyl liner pool that he was inspired and driven to get into the pool business.

Jim Sr. started his custom pool building business out of his garage in Redding, CT in 1984. And after years of success and growth Jim Sr moved his business from his garage to a commercial building with a showroom and concrete plant in Bethel, CT.  L&J Pools is still family owned and operated, Jim Sr. along with his wife and 3 children and more employees, work together to provide quality custom pools throughout Connecticut. Their pool company has many satisfied pool owners in Danbury, New Fairfield, Ridgefield, Brookfield and other areas of CT.

Besides the Pool Building Business do you do anything else?

L&J Pools is much more than just a vinyl liner and gunite pool building company. Jim Sr. got into the pool business when new construction sales where slowing down. Also when he had received great feedback from his friends and family after building his own inground pool, weighed in his decision. In 1987 he started a Heating Oil company to accompany the Pool business since the pool company is seasonal. His Heating Oil Company would be able to keep his guys busy in the off season.

Fiorilla Heating Oil does automatic deliveries throughout Fairfield County and the lower half of Litchfield County.  Their website at fiorillaheatingoil.com is very user friendly; customers can go online to see what the current rate is, select the day for delivery, and even pay online. Fiorilla Heating Oil regularly posts their daily cash price on Facebook (@fiorillaheatingoil), and when you follow you can receive Facebook only specials.

Whats the toughest thing about owning a Inground Pool Building Business in 2016?

Time is always difficult to manage says Jim Jr. “You’re basically married to the business, you’re here, and every single thing falls on your shoulders to make it all run smoothly. You’re the first one here, and the last one to leave. The favorite part of my day is getting home to my family.” Jim Jr. lives locally, and is the father to three little girls.

“Another thing that our pool company needs to deal with is the constant fees, licenses, and high requirements just to clean a pool.” Jim proceeded to explain everything to me about the SP-1, SPB licenses needed to run a successful pool company, but it was too overwhelming for me to follow.

If a Customer was looking to get a Custom Pool Built, and was to choose between your Pool Company, and three others like it - Why Choose L&J Pools?

Jim Jr. explains, “We build the pool, patio, fencing, etc., from the start of your project to the finished product and everything in between, everything is done in house. We mix our own concrete so we don’t have to rely on any one. On top of that my father, Jim Sr. is a licensed septic installer so he can relocate your septic tank if required. Most of the pool guys in Danbury and Bethel just build vinyl liner pools. We of course build vinyl liner pools as well, but we also build custom gunite pools. A gunite pool is a commercial grade swimming pool, and it is top of the line. Vinyl liners are kit pools, and have specific dimensions. Our customers love our gunite pools because they are completely customizable. We make swimming pools to fit our customer’s individual needs.”

Besides listening to information about pool licensing my interview with Jim Jr. was very interesting and had a lot of information to offer. I thought it was great that they created another company (Fiorilla Heating Oil) on top of the Pool Company to provide their seasonal employees with work during the off season, which shows great character. I know where I’ll be going to get a pool…. Eventually!

Need a Plumber in Danbury?

I met up with Mike at his office and we talked about his company, Mike Barret Plumbing & Heating LLC.  We discussed the establishment of his Plumbing Company, and the hardest parts about owning a business.  One of the of the toughest parts of having a business in 2016, he says, is competing against guys who are not licensed and insured.  “Unfortunately it happens a lot, guys will pay other guys to borrow their licenses to get the job, and the customer will think their getting a great deal.”

We talked about how he’s grateful for the small team of plumbers he has working for him.  They both have families in the Danbury / New Milford area.  Mike himself has twins that are four years old.  Both plumbers working for him understand the need for delivering the best service to their customers.

Mike got his start after graduating from Henry Abbot Tech, and doing his apprenticeship with M&M Plumbing.  He explained that it was tough opening a business because advertising in the phonebook was extremely expensive.  Phonebooks are long extinct, and the internet has taken over.

Owning a Plumbing Business in 2016

Mike Barret Plumbing & Heating has built up 247 5 star reviews on Angie’s List, but Angie’s List recently changed up their listing format.  Now when you do a search in Angie’s List, the companies that come up first are the ones paying the most for advertising instead of the ones with the best reputation.

On the flip-side,  Mike explains “the internet will can destroy a business rather quickly.  If you don’t do a nice job or treat people fairly then you’ll rack up a handful of bad reviews that can destroy your business.”  When talking about whether or not he wanted to grow his business he expressed the need to stay small in order to provide the best service to his customers.

Why Choose Mike Barret Plumbing & Heating LLC?

To wrap things up I asked - if a customer was to choose between Mike Barret Plumbing & Heating LLC and three others just like it, why should they choose yours?  Mike explains that “because I’m in touch with every customer regardless if I’m on site or not.  We stand behind our work completely – no questions asked.  On top of that we don’t have a lot of overhead so we’re able to keep our prices down.”

After interviewing Mike Barret, owner of Mike Barret Plumbing & Heating LLC it was easy to notice that we was a real family man who cares a ton about business, and will provide nothing but the best plumbing service in the Danbury area.

Need a Local Plumber?

Michael Lombardi of Lombardi Plumbing and Heating learned the basics of Plumbing, Heating and HVAC during his days working at Tarrywile Dairy Farm.  Instead of hanging out with his friends during his teenage years he was working hard learning his fathers Plumbing trade.  Mike always loved to work with his hands growing up.

Shortly after graduating from Danbury High School he started working with his father.  At the time his father was a re-seller for plumbing & HVAC supplies.  In 1984 Michael Lombardi became a master plumber.  He later started his own business Lombardi Plumbing and Heating which serves the Danbury area including Bethel, New Fairfield, New Milford, and Ridgefield.

In Mike's spare time he enjoys playing chess, sitting down with a good book and taking trips down to NYC.
