Strongtown Fitness is Southbury's #1 Gym!
I sat down with Dan at his gym in Southbury, Connecticut last week to understand the bold claim that "Strongtown Fitness is Southbury's #1 Gym!" Apparently if you're looking for a gym near Southbury, CT this is the place to go.
Apparently I was right. As I sat down with Dan at Strongtown Fitness located on 1432 Old Waterbury Rd in Southbury, CT I noticed something different than any other gym I've been to in the past. I heard talking... People were actually talking to one another. It wasn't the awkward gym setting with people with everyone having their headphone in and scarcely even making eye contact. I realized then, that this gym was something special. It was less of a gym, fitness center or health club and more of a community. More than a Health Club, Fitness Center and Exercise Classes!
I figured that maybe the people in here were just friends and joined together. Then I noticed a new person "dropping in" for an exercise class come into the gym. Immediately, everyone wanted to know who he was and where he was from! Dan told me that the community aspect of CrossFit Strongtown is why people stay with their newly adopted healthy habits.
If a customer was to choose between your gym and 3 other gyms in Southbury, Oxford or Middlebury - Why Choose You?
Dan, the owner of Strongtown Fitness explains:
We have a lot of competition nearby. Our biggest competition is actually the big box gyms like Planet Fitness, Fitness Edge and since there's a Planet Fitness right on Main St South - it's hard to get people to try a free class here. Once people try a free class, they realize what they've been missing! We just need to get people in the door. Sometimes people see our photos of "ripped" women or buff guys lifting heavy weight and get intimidated. They think that they'll get hurt... Which they won't. I asked why not? Isn't it more dangerous to lift heavy weight? Dan replied: It's only dangerous to lift heavy weight with bad form. Heck, it's dangerous to do anything with bad form, but at our gym - no matter what fitness class you take - a coach is watching you. Our coaches are keeping you in line, working out with the right form. They check to make sure your back is in proper alignment during exercises like the squat, deadlight and power clean. We also check to make your knees are in the correct position during workouts. It sounded like Dan could talk about correct workout form for an eternity! How does your Free Fitness Class Work?
I've taken free exercise classes before so I explained to Dan that there's always a catch when you sign up for a free yoga class, free personal training session, free gym pass or something along those lines.
Dan let me know that they offer a 100% Free, No Obligation, Class to either their CrossFit Classes or Academy Classes by simply going to their gym website and scheduling a time to attend. He also explained that trying a gym class isn't like sitting down a personal trainer. "We're not going to be selling you a expensive membership! You're going to figure out after one class if this is the right place for you to get in shape or not". Where your Gym Located Located?
Strongtown Fitness
1432 Old Waterbury Rd Southbury, CT 06488 Phone: (475) 559-2286 Who is CrossFit Strongtown For?
Dan explained that many people assume that they need to get in shape before going to a CrossFit gym, but in fact it's much the opposite. When people get in shape by themselves they often establish very poor movement patterns which can actually lead to injury.
CrossFit Strongtown has something for everyone:
It's for people who want to...
Strongtown Fitness is Southbury's #1 Gym because it's not just a place to lose weight, get healthy or get in shape - instead it's the place to all that and more while making friends along the way! |
