Dog University is a training facility for all ages of puppies learning essential obedience as well as for those with aggression problems. Instead of using a fixed set of requirements, they personalize the training program to meet the particular needs of your dog. In order to create the best training program they can for you and your dog, they also conduct a behavioral assessment before scheduling instruction.

​Dog University's owner and head trainer, James Oliver, has years of experience working with troublesome and aggressive dogs. Because of his training methods and follow-up training with owners, he has prevented a great number of dogs from being surrendered or possibly put down. His years of expertise have given him a wide range of experience that he can use to assist dogs in overcoming extreme fear, trauma, abuse, and neglect.

James has been instructing dogs for more than 40 years. Many veterinarians and animal rescue organizations in the Northern Virginia region have endorsed him because of his reputation in the dog training industry. He also holds an honorable discharge from the United States Army after serving for three years after graduating from Oakton High School in 1985. All of their boarding facility employees are trained on how to properly handle dogs both individually and in a group environment that is why Dog University was established on training. Each dog's gestures and temperament are also considered, and playgroups are properly managed and watched over to ensure everyone has a good time and is safe.
